After pleading guilty to sexual assault, Burton said he was drunk and very tired, but Judge Howard Crawson didn't deem that much of an excuse: a post-arrest search of Burton's computer revealed Burton's thousands of searches for ...well... unlawful photos of kids, said prosecutor Joanne Kidd. And there were downloaded images too, such as one of a young girl wearing only ropes. Burton was sentenced to 22 months behind bars and placed on a sex offenders' registry.
His marriage has fallen apart. And to top it off, he's lost his position on the council, where he chaired the Children and Young Persons' Scrutiny Forum.
